DescriptionThe whole story▼
The F850GS of 2018 onwards is a middleweight adventure bike with a genuine off-road chassis, and many owners use it on gravel as much as on the road. This RCT shift lever for the BMW F850GS gives them an adjustable, ball-bearing lever that can be set for the boots they wear.
Key Features
- Hard-anodised CNC-machined aluminium
- Colours matched to other Gilles parts
- Fully adjustable
- Rubberised tread
- Ball-bearing pivot, free of play
- Road legal in Germany under ABE No. KBA 91249
Adjustable where the foot is
Off-road boots are stiffer and wider than road boots, and a lever that is well placed for one can be awkward with the other. The fully adjustable RCT lever solves that, and its rubberised tread gives good grip.
Ball bearings instead of play
The lever pivots on ball bearings, which keeps gear changes precise even after the lever has seen dust, rain and mud. It is hard-anodised and made from CNC-machined aluminium.
When the standard lever bends
A tip-over on a trail often bends the shift lever first. The RCT lever is machined from solid aluminium, and if it is ever damaged, its individual parts can be ordered separately rather than replacing the complete lever.
Road Approval
German road approval for the BMW F850GS: ABE No. KBA 91249. It requires installation per the fitting instructions and applies with the rest of the bike in standard trim. No acceptance inspection, no paperwork change; just carry the printed ABE.
Scope of Delivery
One shift lever with the instructions for fitting. The ABE certificate is included.
