DescriptionThe whole story▼

A splashguard is not a mudguard. It sits under the tail, close to the tyre, and catches what the rear wheel throws forward at the shock, the linkage and the underside of the subframe — the parts a mudguard never reaches.

Key Features

  • Rear splashguard, direct replacement for the original part
  • 200 Plain or 245 Twill weave, clear coat, matt or satin
  • Autoclave-cured laminate across a large, unsupported surface
  • Original mounting points, original fasteners
  • Works alongside the rear mudguard, not instead of it

The Most Expensive Part of the Group

This is the priciest single piece in the Monster range after the seat cover, and the reason is size: it is a large panel that has to hold its shape without a frame behind it. That takes more material and a bigger mould.

Whether it is worth it depends on how the bike is used. For a fair-weather bike, probably not. For one that sees rain and winter roads, it protects the two components on a Monster that cost the most to put right.

Fitment and Compatibility

Ducati Monster 1200, model years 2014 to 2016, on the original mounts. Check what else is fitted under the tail — an aftermarket tail tidy or an alarm bracket often takes exactly this space.

Road Approval

Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part. Treat it as a replacement bodywork part and confirm the position for your own registration before road use.

Linkage Bearings Fail from Dirt

Rear suspension linkage bearings on a road bike rarely wear out. They fail because water carrying grit gets past the seals, and once that has happened the bearing is on a countdown.

Anything that keeps that water away is worth more than it costs. That is the whole case for a splashguard, and it has nothing to do with how the bike looks.
