DescriptionThe whole story▼

On a Yamaha SCR950 ridden through wet months or loaded for a weekend away, the rear brake carries a real share of the stopping. Accossato rear pad AGPP121 in the Sintered (ST) compound is designed for those conditions. Accossato lists AGPP121 for the SCR950 from 2017 to 2019. ST is intended to keep a steady grip hot or cold and to bite cleanly on a wet disc.

Key Features

  • AGPP121 rear pad in Sintered (ST) compound
  • For the Yamaha SCR950, 2017-2019
  • Accossato: high, constant grip at high and low temperatures, good wet grip
  • Steady pedal feel with a loaded bike
  • Clean bite in rain
  • Two pads, full rear set
  • Also available as OR

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato says the Sintered compound maintains a high, constant grip across temperatures and works well in the wet. On a heavy scrambler's rear brake used in all weathers, that consistency is the key point. The company's general claims for its pads, long life, reduced fading and strong stopping, are passed on as its statements.

Rain and Luggage

On wet roads, SCR950 riders often lean more on the rear brake, because it is less likely to upset the bike than a hard front stop. With luggage, the rear wheel carries more weight and can take more braking. ST is designed to bite cleanly on a wet disc and to keep its level as the brake warms up on a long descent. For dry town riding, OR is quieter. The SCR950 also invites riders onto unsurfaced lanes where the front wheel can wash out under hard braking. There, most of the slowing happens at the rear, and a pad that responds evenly as the pedal goes down lets the rider feather speed without locking the wheel on dirt or wet leaves.

After Rain

Rinse the rear caliper after wet rides, let it dry and check that the pads slide freely. Inspect the disc for grooves at each pad change.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPP121 for the SCR 950 Scrambler from 2017 to 2019. One box covers the single rear caliper. At the front, Accossato lists AGPA71. When fitting, press the piston back carefully and pump the pedal until it is firm.

Road Approval

We hold no ABE or test certificate for AGPP121ST, so it is sold for track and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

One box with two Sintered (ST) AGPP121 rear pads, a full set for the SCR950.
