DescriptionThe whole story▼

In spring, motorcycle workshops fill up fast, and a Mana 850 GT waiting for a new front brake lever can spend longer in the queue than the job deserves. Aprilia's GT version of the Mana, listed by Accossato from 2009 to 2018, added a half fairing and a screen to the automatic V-twin and made it a relaxed machine for longer trips. Swapping its brake lever is a task most owners can manage with ordinary tools. Accossato's AGD13 makes that possible: a silver lever in the shape of the original.

Key Features

  • Silver front brake lever in original shape for the Aprilia Mana 850 GT
  • Listed by Accossato from 2009 to 2018
  • Fits on the right handlebar, where the original lever sits
  • Economical replacement, developed by Accossato for value for money
  • Better resistance after damage or falls, which Accossato attributes to its manufacturing process
  • Single lever per box
  • No German ABE; sold for track use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato keeps its description short. The AGD13 is an original spare parts type, a lever modelled on the one fitted to the Mana 850 GT at the factory, and the company developed it to offer good value for money. It also states that its manufacturing process makes the lever more resistant after damage or a crash. For this bike Accossato lists it in silver. We have no further data from the maker and will not make any up; for most owners, what counts is that the replacement has the shape they know.

Skipping the Workshop Queue

A brake lever is one of the few repairs on a modern motorcycle that needs neither diagnostic equipment nor a lift. With the bike standing securely, remove the pivot bolt, lift the old lever away and clean the bolt and the hole it runs in before the new one goes on with a little grease. The hydraulics stay sealed the whole time, so nothing needs bleeding or topping up. Two checks complete the work. The brake light has to come on when the lever is pulled, and there must be the small amount of free play the handbook specifies before the lever starts to move the master cylinder piston. Pump the lever a few times with the Mana 850 GT stationary until the pressure point feels firm. If anything feels soft, or you are unsure, the workshop remains the right place; for most owners, though, the job is done well before an appointment would have come round.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato gives the AGD13 for the Mana 850 GT from 2009 to 2018. Like every Mana, the GT has no clutch lever, so there is no clutch lever to order with it. At Inter-Pace the same lever is also listed for the unfaired Mana 850 and for the Shiver 750 GT, and Accossato's CNC brake lever EDF023 is catalogued for the Mana 850 GT if you want a different shape. Please compare the lever on your bike with our photographs before you order.

Road Approval

Neither an ABE nor any other test certificate is on file with us for the AGD13, which is why we sell it for use in motorsport.
