One airbox serves four motorcycles here. The intake side of Honda's Neo Sports Cafe singles is shared from the CB125R at the bottom of the range to the CB300R at the top, which means the element was dimensioned around the largest engine of the four rather than the smallest. On a CB125R that leads to an honest and unglamorous conclusion: the air filter was never the thing standing between this engine and its output, and no replacement element is going to alter that. What the Sprint Filter P08 changes is narrower and rather more useful. The restriction stays close to where it started instead of climbing quietly between services, and the part stops being something you order again.
Key Features
- Woven, not pressed from pulp: polyester threads from ø 22 microns upwards
- The P08 medium filters at 80 microns and carries an airflow figure of 5,050 l/m²/sec
- Dry from the outset, never oiled — no film to reach a sensor or a throttle body
- Filtering surface some two times that of other performance elements
- Swaps straight into the standard airbox: no modification, no remap, homologation as it was
- Washed and used again, with two years of warranty running from the day of purchase
What a filter can and cannot do on a 125
A fresh paper element and a fresh P08 will feel much the same on the first ride out, and anybody who tells you otherwise is selling something. The difference shows up later. Paper loads by closing up, progressively and invisibly, and the pressure drop across a filter climbs with airflow rather than sitting at a fixed value. Whatever restriction has quietly accumulated is therefore felt hardest at precisely the point where a small single has nothing spare, at the top of a full-throttle pull in fourth. A woven polyester medium filters at 80 microns and flows 5,050 l/m²/sec when it is clean, and because it is washed rather than thrown away it can be put back into that condition instead of drifting steadily away from it.
An element specified for the biggest engine in the family
Sharing a part across four displacements has a practical dividend: it stays in production. A component that serves one variant in one market tends to leave the shelves the moment that variant does, whereas SM219S is catalogued against four machines and nine model years, so ordering it once remains straightforward for as long as any of them are on the road.
Care and cleaning
The compressor does the ordinary work: aim at the clean side, blow outwards, refit. Once a hard season has earned it, the element gets a wash instead — lukewarm water, a little mild detergent, rinsing until the water runs clear. Then it dries, in open air only, since heat and flame ruin the medium. The SM219S is refitted dry, and the P08 has no oiling step to forget. The Sprint Filter maintenance sheet is in the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
Made for the Honda CB125R from 2018 to 2026. The same SM219S element also covers the CB150R, CB250R and CB300R across the same years, four machines from one airbox design. The complete list is in the Fitment tab.
