Two different motorcycles have carried the name Streetfighter V2. Ducati used it from 2022 for the machine built around the 955 Superquadro, and again from 2025 for the one built around the 890 V2, and both are recent enough that a catalogue has to keep them apart. Sprint Filter does it the only way that works: separate part numbers for separate housings, with the 955 on PM127S and the 890 on the PM279S listed here. Ordering an air filter for this bike is therefore a question about the registration document, not about the badge on the tank.
Key Features
- Dry woven polyester, one layer, with no oil in it when new and none after any wash
- An 80 µm mesh flowing a rated 5,050 l/m²/sec — the medium Sprint Filter builds for road and track
- Thread diameter from ø 22 microns, a figure describing the fibre rather than the openings
- Approximately twice the filtering surface of other performance elements in the same frame
- Slots into the unmodified series airbox in place of the paper panel, with no remap required
- Washed and reused across the motorcycle's whole life; the warranty runs two years from purchase
The housing decides, not the badge
A filter is defined by the box it seals into, which is why one part number here covers six machines that share almost nothing else. An enduro, a supermoto, a naked, a tourer and two sports bikes sit on this listing together because Ducati built them around one engine and one airbox — and it is the same reason a name carried over from an older engine puts you on a different number entirely. The ordering rule that falls out of both facts is one rule: match the year, then the model, and let the badge come last.
What is actually in the frame
Inside it is a layer of polyester woven to an 80 µm aperture and used dry, presenting roughly double the cloth of other performance elements so that the rating of 5,050 l/m²/sec has enough surface to work across. Sprint Filter's own comparison measurements put the dry medium at 93.13 per cent retention of 100-micron particles, against 76.42 per cent for four-layer oiled cotton. None of that translates into a stronger motorcycle — no element in a standard housing will do that — but it does mean the intake resistance you start with is one you can keep coming back to.
Care and cleaning
Compressed air does the regular work: aim it at the face that sits downstream and push the load back out the front, rather than driving it deeper into the weave. When air is not enough, warm water with a mild detergent and a patient rinse will finish the job, and the element goes back only once it is bone dry. Drying is done at room temperature and nowhere near a heat source or a flame, because heat is what destroys the polyester. Downloads holds the maintenance sheet.
Fitment & Compatibility
Made for the Ducati Streetfighter V2 of 2025 and 2026, the 890 V2 model. Six machines in Ducati's current V2 range take the same element; confirm your model year in the Fitment tab before ordering.
