Hose-mounted reservoirs allow installation where a piggyback would foul the chassis. The reservoir holds the gas charge and the oil volume the damper displaces as the shaft enters it. Hose length is part of the installation and cannot be changed freely.

Genuine Service Part

Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. Öhlins publishes dimensions for its service parts so a workshop can verify before it fits. We can check the number against the Öhlins exploded view before you order — just ask. Tell us the damper's model designation and year and we will match the number for you.

Getting the Number Right

Part number 21508-04 is unambiguous; the description alone is not, because Öhlins uses similar wording across sizes. The thread is M8x1. A separating piston or bladder keeps nitrogen and oil apart; if it fails the damping goes with it. The separating piston or bladder inside keeps gas and oil apart; if it fails, the damping goes with it.

Fitting and Setup Service

Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 21508-04

Category: Hoses

Thread: M8x1

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/21508-04_717cad1e-e5e6-4dfb-9d2d-4eb8c2f1d8a6.png?v=1788879573
