DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Scrambler-specific throttle housing for the 1100, cut for its wide bar and anodised black.

Key Features

  • Ducati Scrambler 1100 (2018–2023)
  • Profile cut for this model family
  • Throttle housing without switch block
  • CNC-machined from Ergal 7075
  • Black anodised
  • Machined throttle tube bore

A Bar Unlike the Others

Wide, flat and set high, with a cable run nothing else in the range shares. The SC profile is drawn around that geometry rather than adapted to it afterwards.

Ten Seventy-Nine Cubic Centimetres, Air-Cooled

The engine came from the Monster 1100 and was softened to 86 horsepower. Emissions rules have since ended air cooling at Ducati entirely and nothing is going to replace it.

Switch Block Untouched

This part covers the throttle assembly only. It is the appropriate purchase when the switchgear still works and the moulded plastic around the grip is the thing that grates.

Ridden Slowly, Mostly

A Scrambler is used casually rather than hard, which means smoothness at the grip matters more than precision at full throttle. That is exactly what a cut bore delivers.

Anodising Is Electrochemical

The black is grown into the top layer of the aluminium. On a motorcycle with this much exposed metal and almost no bodywork, a coated finish would show every mark.

Ergal 7075

Roughly twice as strong as the aluminium used in most machined accessories. Scramblers get dropped on gravel and the material is specified for that rather than for a photograph.

Brembo M4.32

Monobloc calipers on a motorcycle styled as a 1970s desert sled. The gap between how the Scrambler presents itself and what it actually carries is most of the appeal.

A Proper Trellis

The 1100 sits above the 800 range with a genuinely substantial frame and a heavier feel. It is the Scrambler for people who found the smaller ones insubstantial.

The Last of Its Kind

No manufacturer will build a new large air-cooled twin again. That has already made the 1100 more interesting to own than it was when it was new, and it will keep doing so.
