DescriptionThe whole story

The DL800 V-Strom is the newest middleweight in the range, built around the 776 cc parallel twin that Suzuki introduced with the GSX-8 platform. It shares that engine's evaporative arrangement, and JP ES 051 handles the electronics when the canister comes off.

Key Features

  • For the Suzuki DL800 V-STROM, 2023–2025
  • Removes the EVAP canister and purge circuit
  • No stored fault codes after removal
  • Direct plug on the standard connector
  • Shares the circuit with the GSX-8 platform
  • Standard parts refit without modification

A New Engine Family

Suzuki's 776 cc twin arrived in 2023 and now carries three models. That matters for parts: anything built around the engine's circuits rather than a model badge covers the DL800, the GSX-8S and the GSX-8R alike. Useful on a platform whose accessory market is still filling in.

Where the Space Goes

The DL800 is a compact motorcycle with a narrow frame and not much bodywork to hide things behind. Owners fitting crash protection wiring, a tyre pressure monitor or an auxiliary light relay run out of sheltered space quickly. Taking the canister out returns one of the few remaining pockets.

Still Under Warranty

A 2023-on V-Strom is new enough that a dealer will notice missing emissions hardware. Nothing here is cut or drilled, so the bike returns to standard — provided the canister and hoses went into a labelled box rather than a bin. That is the step people skip.
