DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Vulcan S Cafe gives Kawasaki's approachable 650 cruiser a dose of café racer style, with a small screen above the headlamp and a sportier look overall. Its riders are rarely racers, yet the style invites curiosity about what riding on a circuit feels like. Several circuits and training providers answer exactly that curiosity with taster sessions, in which small groups follow an instructor at a controlled pace. For the Vulcan S Cafe of 2017 to 2019, Accossato lists the FC113, a tank cap with quick release, made entirely of CNC-machined aluminium and finished with a coloured pin on its pawl.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Kawasaki Vulcan S Cafe, 2017 to 2019
- Accossato entry: Vulcan S 650 Cafe with ABS
- CNC-machined from aluminium, robust and durable according to Accossato
- Quick-closing pawl for quick opening and closing
- Six pin colours: blue, green, black, red, silver, gold
- Spare pawl sold separately
- No German ABE documented; for the track
Construction and Material Quality
The FC113 is machined from aluminium throughout on CNC equipment; Accossato calls it robust and durable and gives it a new design of its own. The quick-closing pawl opens the Vulcan S Cafe's tank without delay and closes it again the same way. That pawl carries the pin colour you pick when ordering, and the choice runs from restrained black and silver to red, blue, green and gold. Damage to the pawl is covered by a separately available spare, so the cap does not have to be replaced as a whole.
Taster Laps Behind an Instructor
A taster session is made for riders who have never been on a circuit. After a briefing on flags and on how the group will ride, the participants set off in a line behind an instructor, who keeps a moderate pace and gradually shows the lines through each bend. Overtaking is usually not allowed, and nobody is timed. For the Vulcan S Cafe this format fits well: at such a pace the rider can concentrate on looking ahead, braking smoothly and choosing a line, without the pressure of faster bikes. The sessions are short, so fuel is rarely the concern it becomes on a full track day, but the tank still deserves a look. Arrive with enough fuel for the programme, fit the FC113 once the engine is cold, and check before the first group leaves that the cap is closed and the tank dry around it. Then all that is left is to enjoy the laps and listen to the instructor.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list names the Vulcan S 650 Cafe with ABS from 2017 to 2019 for the FC113, and those are the years this product covers. With us the same cap is also listed for the standard Vulcan S and for the Z900RS. Please check your bike against the application list before ordering.
Road Approval
There is no documented German ABE or parts certificate for the FC113, which confines it to the circuit. Kawasaki's original cap usually locks, and whenever the Vulcan S Cafe is on public roads, that is the cap to use.
Scope of Delivery
One FC113 cap with quick-closing pawl, pin colour of your choice. Accossato also offers the pawl as a spare.
