DescriptionThe whole story▼

Club motocross is full of riders who race on Sunday and have to be back at work on Monday. Many of them choose a bike like the Husqvarna FC 350, a four-stroke that sits between the 250 and the 450, and they ride it hard but with a margin, because an injury or a wrecked bike costs more than a lost position. Made for the FC 350 from 2014 to 2022, Accossato's B8283 is a folding front brake lever milled in Italy from Ergal 7075, with a joint meant to spare the blade when a small mistake puts the bike on the ground.

Key Features

  • Folding front brake lever for the Husqvarna FC 350, every model year from 2014 to 2022
  • Listed for the 2014–2015, 2016–2021 and 2022 versions
  • Mounts on the original front brake master cylinder
  • Three-finger blade, short as on all Accossato brake levers
  • Anti-break joint gives the blade room to fold forward
  • Machined from solid Ergal 7075 in Italy
  • Blade in black, blue or orange
  • No German ABE documented; motocross and off-road competition only

Construction and Material Quality

The B8283 is made the slow way. Accossato takes a solid piece of Ergal 7075, a high-strength aluminium alloy, and has a CNC machine in Italy cut away material until only the lever is left, with the aim of combining strength, low weight and reliability. Two parts come out of that process and meet at the folding joint: a dark base that locates on the brake master cylinder pivot of the FC 350, and a blade in black, blue or orange. The blade is the shorter of Accossato's two, designed for a three-finger grip on the brake.

Racing With a Margin

Racing with a margin mostly comes down to braking. Club races are rarely decided on the straights; positions are won and lost at the turns, where the fastest riders brake later and more precisely than everyone else. The rider with a job on Monday tends to brake a bike length earlier, keep the front tyre well inside its grip and choose the line that forgives a mistake. It is a sensible approach, yet even careful riders tuck the front now and then on a slippery turn entry, and the Husqvarna ends up on its right side in the dirt.

At that point the rider has one question: can I carry on? If the brake lever has snapped off near the pivot, the answer is usually no, and a day that cost an entry fee and a long drive ends early. The B8283 is designed to improve the odds. Its blade can kick forward on the joint instead of breaking, and in many low-speed falls that is enough to keep it usable. It will not survive everything, and a spare in the van remains sensible, but a lever that folds makes a hobby that already claims a lot of weekends a little kinder to the wallet.

Fitment and Compatibility

For the Husqvarna FC 350, Accossato's list includes the B8283 in every model year from 2014 to 2022, split into the version groups 2014 to 2015, 2016 to 2021 and 2022. It goes on the original front brake master cylinder in place of the stock lever. Two clutch levers complement it, depending on the year: the C7283 for 2014, 2015 and 2022, and the C7284 for 2016 to 2021. The brake lever and the C7284 come in black, blue or orange; the C7283 adds red.

Road Approval

No German ABE is documented for this brake lever. It is for motocross and off-road competition, not for public roads.
