DescriptionThe whole story▼
Clip-on bars and a sporty riding position are exactly right for an RC 390 on a winding road, but they leave the bike with limited steering lock, and a U-turn in a narrow street soon becomes a test of slow-speed control. At walking pace, balance comes from the clutch: a steady engine, the lever held at the friction point and a light touch of the rear brake. Accossato's ESK390 for the RC 390 of 2014 to 2019 brings that friction point within easy reach through an adjustable lever position.

Construction and Material Quality
Held half-pulled for seconds at a time, a clutch lever soon shows whether it is truly rigid. The ESK390 is made by CNC machining from aluminium and then anodised, the hub black and the blade in the colour chosen, with the pivot and the reach adjustment both located in the hub. The blade has no folding joint, so the lever is one fixed unit from the pivot outwards, and nothing in it can shift while you hold it at the friction point. That is useful on the RC 390 at low speed, where the slightest unintended movement of the lever is felt at once as a lurch or a stall.
Limited Lock, Tight Turns
With the bars at full lock on a sports bike, the inside grip comes close to the tank and your arm is sharply bent, which makes it harder to hold the clutch lever steady just when you need it most. Riders who manage tight turns smoothly on the RC 390 keep the engine a little above idle, hold the lever at the friction point and control their speed with gentle pressure on the rear brake rather than with the throttle. They turn their head to look where they want to go, not at the kerb. For this, the lever should be close enough that two fingers can hold it at the friction point with the arm bent, without the rest of the hand letting go of the grip. Try the setting in an empty car park first: figures of eight at walking pace, then tighter circles, both left and right. The standard or long blade offers the finest control for most hands, and the short one suits riders who always keep two fingers on the clutch. Once the turns feel calm, the same set-up helps in slow traffic, in underground garages and on campsite tracks.
Fitment and Compatibility
The ESK390 fits the RC 390 from 2014 to 2019 and replaces the lever KTM fitted at the clutch mounting. The manufacturer's entry begins ahead of the RC 390's market launch, so this listing starts with the first model year that reached customers. For the brake, the EDF039 covers the same span of 2014 to 2019, with the same hub and colours.
Road Approval
This clutch lever carries no documented German ABE, so it is sold for the track.
