DescriptionThe whole story▼

Braking hard for a slow corner on a Panigale 1299 S keeps every limb busy at once. The right hand squeezes the brake, the left foot knocks down through the gears, and the left hand, whenever you use the clutch for those downshifts, has to pull and release it quickly and smoothly without disturbing the bike. Any hesitation there upsets the rear wheel. The Accossato ESH011 is a clutch lever for the 1299 S from 2015 to 2018, machined from aluminium, anodised, and adjustable in its distance to the grip.

Key Features

  • Clutch lever for the Panigale 1299 S, 2015 to 2018
  • Adjustable reach for quick, short pulls
  • Short blade for two fingers, standard about 138 mm, long also made
  • Fits the original Ducati clutch mounting
  • CNC-machined, anodised aluminium
  • Black hub, seven blade colours
  • Rigid blade without a joint, supplied in a box

Construction and Material Quality

Made by CNC machining and anodised afterwards, the ESH011 combines a black hub with a coloured blade. It has no folding joint, so the blade is locked to the hub and the friction point is always at the same place in the travel. That consistency is what makes a fast, precise pull possible without looking or searching.

Downshifts in the Braking Zone

Whether or not your Panigale 1299 S can shift down without the clutch, many riders still use it on the road, because a clutch-assisted downshift is smoother and easier on the drivetrain. The movement itself is short: two fingers pull the lever just far enough to free the clutch, the foot selects the gear, and the fingers let the clutch back in progressively while the engine speed catches up. Done well, the rear tyre never notices.

The key is a lever that the fingers can reach instantly while the rest of the hand holds the bar steady under braking. Set the reach close enough that two fingers rest on the blade in your normal riding position, and make sure the other fingers are not trapped at full pull. The short blade is designed for that kind of quick two-finger work and is available in blue, green, orange, gold and silver. If you fit Accossato's EDF099 on the brake side as well, you can set both levers to a similar reach, so each hand finds its lever in the same place.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the ESH011 for the Panigale 1299 S, where it replaces the original clutch lever. The catalogue gives years up to 2020; since the Panigale V4 succeeded the 1299 in 2018, this product is listed for 2015 to 2018. The EDF099 brake lever completes the pair for the same model years.

Road Approval

There is no documented German ABE for this clutch lever, so we sell it as a track part.
