When KTM introduced the 1290 Super Adventure for 2015, it created its biggest travel enduro yet and equipped it for covering continents: a large touring fairing, cruise control and headlights that light up the inside of a bend as the bike leans into it. Riders who plan days of that length often finish them in the dark. The Accossato EDD001 is a CNC-machined aluminium front brake lever for this first 1290 Super Adventure of 2015 and 2016, with an adjustable distance to the grip and a choice of three blade lengths.

Construction and Material Quality
You rarely look at a brake lever while riding, and after dark you cannot, so its shape has to be read by the fingers. The EDD001 is cut from aluminium on CNC machines, which leaves smooth faces and clean, even edges along the blade, and then anodised: the hub around the pivot and the reach adjuster in black, the blade in the colour you order. Anodising turns the surface of the metal into a hard oxide that carries the colour within it. From hub to tip the lever is one fixed piece, with no joint that could fold or shift.
Finding the Lever After Dark
Night changes braking in two ways. Distances are harder to judge, so stops have to begin earlier and build more gently, and the hand has to find the lever without any help from the eyes. The second point is easy to underestimate. In daylight a rider glances down now and then and corrects the hand position without thinking; in the dark the fingers rely on memory alone. That memory is most reliable when the lever is always in exactly the same place, which is why the reach deserves to be set once, carefully, in the gloves you wear at night, and then left alone. With the blade adjusted so that it meets the fingers at the first joint, a hand arriving from the throttle lands on it every time. Cold night air stiffens fingers inside gloves, and a long blade, made in blue, gold, green and orange, then gives useful extra leverage. Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EDD001 for this bike under the name Super Adventure 1290 T. KTM itself sold the model of 2015 and 2016 simply as the 1290 Super Adventure and introduced the T designation only in 2017, for the touring version that followed it. This product therefore covers the original 1290 Super Adventure of 2015 and 2016, mounting on its original master cylinder. For the clutch side of the same bike and model years, the matching Accossato lever is the ESA090.

The EDD001 is a track part: there is no documented German ABE for it.
