Stainless steel under a matt black ceramic treatment, with the same carbon end cap as the rest of the range. Spark builds this one for the total black look, at the same 1.262 euro as the titanium version of the same silencer.
Key Features
- Euro5 approved pair of slip-on silencers for the Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono.
- Konix Evo design, stainless steel case with matt black ceramic treatment.
- Carbon end cap, AISI 304 stainless fittings, specific link pipe included.
- Same price as the titanium version GDU1810TOM.
- Underseat mounting.
- Total black appearance.
Ceramic on Steel, Not Titanium
This is the one place in the range where the case material changes rather than just its colour. GDU1810TOM has a titanium case; this article has a stainless steel one, finished in matt black ceramic.
Spark publishes 3,2 kg for the titanium version and does not publish a separate figure for this one. Stainless is denser than titanium, so this pair will be the heavier of the two — by how much, Spark does not say, and we are not going to invent a number.
What the Treatment Does
A ceramic treatment is cured onto the finished steel rather than laid on top of it. It survives the heat cycles an exhaust lives through, it does not peel at a weld seam, and it does not go chalky the way a black lacquer eventually does.
The result is flat and light-absorbing. Against the carbon end cap the two blacks read as one surface from a few metres.
Everything Else Is Shared
Beyond the case, this article is the same as the titanium Konix Evo: the same silencer shape, the same carbon end cap, the same AISI 304 fittings, the same specific link pipe, the same underseat mounting and the same Euro5 approval.
Nothing about the fit or the installation changes. Whichever of the four articles arrives, the job on the bench is identical.
A Single Under the Seat
The Hypermotard 698 Mono carries its exhaust high and behind the rider, where the silencers are part of the motorcycle's outline rather than tucked away. That is the reason Spark bothered to offer a black case at all — on a bike with a low side-mounted exhaust it would matter far less.
The Same Money as Titanium
Both Konix Evo articles are 1.262 euro. That makes the decision a straight one between a lighter exhaust you can see and a slightly heavier one you cannot — with no budget argument on either side.
On a black Hypermotard the case for this article is obvious. On a red one, the titanium version is the one that belongs.
One Number, Two Spellings
The price list carries this article as GDU1810DOM. Spark's own product pages call the black version of the Konix Evo GDU1810BOM. It is the same silencer pair; we order and stock it under the price-list number, which is the one printed here.
Fitment & Compatibility
