Spark took the World Supersport system it built for the Yamaha R9, kept the pipe lengths and diameters exactly as they are, and re-engineered the mounting so it goes onto a standard bike. The result weighs 3.0 kg against 7.0 kg for the factory exhaust — the biggest weight saving in the R9 range, 4.0 kg — and it bolts to an R9 with its original swingarm, radiator and passenger footpegs still in place.
Key Features
- Full titanium system at 3.0 kg against 7.0 kg standard — 4.0 kg removed, the largest saving Spark offers for this bike.
- Identical pipe lengths and diameters to the WSSP600 racing system, so the performance benefit carries over unchanged.
- Fits the R9 in original configuration: stock swingarm, stock radiator, passenger footpegs retained.
- Two ports for the original lambda sensors, so the standard sensors go straight back in.
- Konix Evo silencer — conical titanium case with sharp-edged detailing and a carbon end cap.
- Bracket for the original passenger footpeg included in the kit.
- Made by Spark in Mantova, Italy.
Build Quality & Materials
Titanium runs the length of the system, and at 3.0 kg complete this is about as light as a four-into-one for a middleweight gets without moving into exotic one-off territory. Titanium is chosen here for the same reason race departments choose it: it holds its geometry through repeated heat cycling, resists the corrosion that eats thin steel from the inside, and needs roughly half the mass of stainless for equivalent strength.
The Konix Evo is Spark's newest silencer and looks it. The case is conical rather than parallel, the transitions are cut sharp rather than radiused, and the carbon end cap was drawn with a design studio in Maranello. Underneath the styling the whole assembly is titanium — sleeve, perforated inner tube and inner end cap alike — which is where the weight advantage over a steel-cased muffler actually comes from.
Performance & Sound
Because the tube geometry is unchanged from the Supersport system, the gas dynamics are unchanged with it. What differs is the installation: this version keeps the two original lambda sensor bosses, so the engine management still sees what it expects and the bike is drivable without a bespoke race loom.
Spark publishes no separate decibel figure for the Konix Evo version on the R9. The silencer volume is sized to sit inside the noise limits enforced at most European circuits, but if you are riding a series with a hard ceiling, ask us for the measurement sheet before you book the day.
Fitment & Compatibility
GYA8802T is the version for a standard Yamaha R9 (2025-2026). Original swingarm, original radiator, original passenger footpegs and the two factory lambda sensors all stay. The mounting kit includes the bracket that carries the silencer off the original pillion footpeg hanger. If your R9 runs a Supersport chassis instead, GYA8801T is the correct part.
Road Approval
None. This system carries no EC homologation and is supplied for closed-circuit use only.
