Three Hundred Grams, and What They Cost

The titanium-bodied version of this slip-on, GAP0407T, weighs 2,2 kg and costs 1.011 euro. This one weighs 1,9 and costs 1.142.

A hundred and thirty-one euro for three hundred grams is expensive by any reasonable measure — and on a machine where the owner is already paying four figures to save three kilos, it is also the kind of arithmetic that stops applying. Carbon is bought as much for the surface as for the mass.

The Modular Idea

Spark's 2025 range for these motorcycles is built as a kit that can be assembled in stages: headers, link pipe, silencer. Each piece is an article on its own, and the connection between them is titanium with the TIG welds left visible rather than dressed.

This slip-on is the rear third of that arrangement, designed to work behind the standard collector as well as behind Spark's own GAP8502.

What Comes With the Collector, Not With This

Spark's modular package around the GAP8502 collector includes a mechanical exhaust-valve emulator to keep the dashboard clear and a dedicated bracket for removing the passenger footrest. Those belong to the collector kit.

Ordering this slip-on on its own gives you the silencer and its titanium link pipe. If the plan is to take the catalyst out as well, the collector is the article that carries the rest of the parts.

Lateral Mounting

The link pipe positions the silencer along the flank rather than under the tail. On an RSV4 that keeps the mass low and inboard, and it leaves the underseat area free — which is where the standard system puts its bulk.

It also means the silencer is the part a rider sees first when the bike is on its side stand, which is presumably why Spark offers this particular article in a carbon body at all.

Carbon on an Exhaust

A carbon silencer body is a sleeve over a metal core, not a structural tube — the gas never touches the fibre. What it changes is mass at the outer diameter and the way the silencer looks and feels in the hand.

It is also the more fragile of the two. A titanium case takes a fall and gets a mark; a carbon one can get a crack that spreads. On a bike that goes down at a track day, that is a real difference.
