Professional Electronics on an Entry-Level Bike
It sounds disproportionate until you look at a Ninja 400 grid. These classes are fiercely competitive precisely because the machinery is so closely matched, and a data system is one of the few legitimate ways to find an advantage that does not involve the engine.
A Cup Bike in All But Name
The Ninja 400 underpins one-make series across Europe and fills the entry classes in national championships. The bikes are prepared thoroughly, and the standard of preparation has risen every year since the model appeared.
Universal Clamp Holes
The plate accepts both aligned and offset master cylinder geometry. On a racing 400, where a better front brake is usually the first modification, that flexibility means the switch does not constrain the choice.
The Loom Comes First
A MECTRONIK installation replaces Kawasaki's wiring with a racing harness. This switch connects to that, not to the standard loom, and it will do nothing on a motorcycle that has not had the conversion.
MK Names the Electronics
The part number identifies the dashboard rather than the bike, which is why the same prefix appears under several manufacturers here. Ordering by motorcycle alone is not sufficient; the system in the bike decides.
Sealed and Machined
Ergal 7075 milled from one block with sealed switch elements. Even at club level the bikes are washed hot and stored in vans, and that is what the construction is aimed at.
Not Interchangeable
JetPrime lists separate right-hand switches for MECTRONIK and I2M systems on this motorcycle. They have different internal wiring and no adapter exists between them, so the dashboard already in the bike decides which part number is correct.
