DescriptionThe whole story▼
A belly pan changes the shape of a Monster more than any other single addition. It closes the gap under the engine that the bike is otherwise defined by, and it is the part people either want immediately or not at all.
Key Features
- Complete belly pan set, centre section and left flank
- 200 Plain or 245 Twill weave, clear coat or matt
- Autoclave-cured laminate, sections from one production run
- Original mounting points where Ducati provides them
- Centre and left sections also listed individually
What a Belly Pan Actually Does
On a road bike it catches oil in the event of a failure and keeps stones off the sump. It does not add downforce at legal speeds and it does not reduce drag in any way a rider would notice.
The honest reason most people fit one is the look: it gives the bike a visual floor and makes the trellis frame read as a shape rather than an opening. That is a legitimate reason and it does not need dressing up as aerodynamics.
Fitment and Compatibility
Ducati Monster 1200, model years 2014 to 2016, on the original mounts. Check exhaust clearance first — a belly pan and an aftermarket header compete for the same space under the engine.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part. Adding bodywork below the engine is assessed individually in several markets — confirm the position for your own registration before road use.
Oil Retention Is a Racing Rule
Championships that require a belly pan specify a retained volume and a closed shape with no drain holes. Fullsix does not claim compliance with any particular series for this part, and neither do we.
If the bike is going to a track day where scrutineering applies, read the regulation and take the part number with you. Five minutes before the event beats an argument on the morning.
