DescriptionThe whole story▼

On the KTM 890 SMT the rear brake handles the slow, delicate moments: creeping through traffic, turning in a narrow street, holding the bike on a hill. Accossato's AGPA29 rear pad in the Organic mixture fits the 890 SMT of model year 2024. It is aimed at owners who ride the SMT daily, who prefer a soft, quiet rear and who would like the rear disc to last for a long time between replacements.

Key Features

  • Rear pads AGPA29 for the KTM 890 SMT, 2024
  • Organic mixture, SKU AGPA29OR
  • Accossato promises long performance and low disc wear
  • Soft, easily dosed rear for slow riding
  • Normally quiet in everyday traffic
  • Helpful for riders getting used to a tall bike
  • Same rear plate available as ST, STMX and EV1
  • No ABE on file with us; for track use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato describes this compound as long-lived and gentle on the disc. For the rear of a daily-ridden SMT, where the brake is used constantly but lightly, those are the properties that keep running costs down. The company adds that its pads limit heat build-up, which reduces fade, while still stopping strongly. The friction layer is bonded to the standard AGPA29 plate.

Everyday Control from the Rear

The SMT's seat is tall, and in slow traffic many riders prefer to manage speed with the rear brake rather than the front, which can make the long fork dive. A soft, predictable rear pad supports that style. The Organic mixture bites gently from cold, which matters on short journeys where the brake never warms up, and it helps with U-turns, car parks and steep driveways.

Chain lube and road grime collect on the rear disc, so clean it regularly and check pad depth whenever you adjust the chain. Keep the rear reservoir topped up between the marks. Riders who have just moved up from a smaller bike often find this calm rear a reassuring companion during their first months on the SMT.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPA29 for the rear caliper of the KTM 890 SMT in model year 2024. At the front, the matching pad is AGPA96, and no Accossato disc is catalogued for the bike. Compare the outline of your old pads with this pair before fitting.

Road Approval

AGPA29OR has no ABE or German approval mark that we are aware of. It is sold for racing use.

Scope of Delivery

Two Organic pads for the rear caliper.
