DescriptionThe whole story▼

Accossato calls EV2 a top racing compound and offers AGPA97 in this version for the front of the Yamaha FZ1 Fazer, 2006 to 2016. It is meant for an FZ1 that has been prepared for track use, whether for club events, regular timed sessions or a naked-bike race class. On a road bike used every day, other compounds in the same family are more suitable, and we explain why below.

Key Features

  • AGPA97 front pad, Accossato EV2 racing compound
  • Listed for the Yamaha FZ1 Fazer, 2006-2016
  • Described by Accossato as a top racing compound
  • For timed sessions, club racing and qualifying
  • Designed for repeated, heavy stops from speed
  • Two pads per box for one front caliper
  • Also available as OR, ST, EV1 and ZXC

Construction and Material Quality

EV2 is one of two racing compounds for AGPA97. Accossato positions it as a top racing mix, designed for brakes that are used hard and often. Its general aims also apply: long life, controlled temperatures to reduce fade and powerful stopping. How the pad feels will depend on your discs, fluid and lever setting, so take time to learn it.

Preparing an FZ1 for the Track

Turning an FZ1 Fazer into a track bike usually starts with tyres, suspension and brakes. For the front pads, a racing compound is designed to give the same bite from the first lap to the last, even when the discs are very hot. EV2 is intended for that. Between sessions, look at the pads, keep the discs clean and watch the fluid colour, since track heat ages fluid quickly. On the road, a racing pad is out of place, especially when cold, so for mixed road and track use, EV1 is the more sensible choice. For a ceramic racing option, Accossato offers ZXC.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPA97 for the front of the FZ1 1000 Fazer between 2006 and 2016, with AGPP88 for the rear. The Fazer uses two front calipers, so two boxes are required. Change both sides together, clean the pistons before retracting them, pump the lever until solid and bed the pads in during the first session.

Road Approval

We hold no ABE or Prüfzeichen for AGPA97EV2. It is supplied for racing only.
