DescriptionThe whole story▼
For riders moving up from a 125 supermoto, the Dorsoduro 750 feels familiar at first glance: the same upright stance, the same wide bar, the same invitation to brake late. Underneath sit a V-twin instead of a small single and a front brake made for a heavier, faster motorcycle. Moving up is exciting, and it also means relearning how much hand the brake needs. The Accossato EDF023 is a CNC-machined aluminium brake lever for the Dorsoduro 750, listed from 2008 to 2016 and including the Factory version of 2010 to 2013, with adjustable reach and three lengths.
Key Features
- Front brake lever for the Aprilia Dorsoduro 750, 2008 to 2016
- Also listed for the Dorsoduro 750 Factory of 2010 to 2013
- Mounts on the original master cylinder
- Reach adjuster placed near the pivot
- Short, standard (approximately 138 mm) or long blade, depending on colour
- Seven anodised blade colours with a black hub
- Solid, one-piece lever without a hinge
- Road approval: no German ABE documented; track use
Construction and Material Quality
The EDF023 is machined, not cast. CNC equipment cuts it from a solid aluminium blank, which gives an even cross-section from the pivot to the tip. Anodising follows and colours the metal itself: black for the hub with its pivot and adjuster, one of seven shades for the blade. Nowhere along the lever is there a joint, so the blade cannot flex or develop slack at a hinge, and what your fingers feel at the tip is what reaches the master cylinder.
After a 125 Motard
A small supermoto teaches good habits: looking far ahead, carrying speed into a bend, using the front brake without fear. What it rarely teaches is restraint. On a light 125, a hard grab seldom overwhelms the front tyre. On the heavier Dorsoduro 750, the same grab loads the tyre far more quickly, and the fork dives before you have time to react. The skill to relearn is progression: take up the free travel, let the pads touch the disc, and only then squeeze harder as the fork settles.
Lever position supports that. Set the reach so your fingers meet the blade with a relaxed bend, because a lever that sits too far away invites a sudden stab once the fingers finally arrive. Many riders coming from a small motard brake with two fingers, and the short blade in blue, gold, green, orange or silver is shaped for exactly that. While you are still finding your feel on the bigger bike, the standard lever of about 138 mm, made in all seven colours, spreads the squeeze over a longer movement and makes a sensible starting point.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EDF023 for the Dorsoduro 750 from 2008 to 2016 and names the Dorsoduro 750 Factory separately for 2010 to 2013. The lever goes onto the original front master cylinder. The same part is listed for the Shiver 750, the naked bike that shares the Dorsoduro's V-twin. On the clutch side, Accossato's lever for the Dorsoduro 750 is the ESC023, listed for 2008 to 2016.
Road Approval
No ABE for use on German public roads is documented for this lever. It is sold for track days and racing.
