What to do with that

Ride the machine first. The standard element answers the question this airbox actually asks, washes indefinitely, and costs a fraction of the racing cloth while the year takes shape. If the ZT 350-R turns out to spend weekends at circuits, the racing medium is still catalogued under the same housing code and still drops straight in — the decision keeps, in a way it does not keep if the expensive version is the first one bought. Neither element makes a standard machine faster; peak output is set by capacity, valve timing, throttle area and the calibration written around them.

Care and cleaning

Routine work is compressed air directed at the clean face and driven outward through the material. A greasy element instead wants lukewarm water with a mild detergent and a full rinse afterwards, continued until the water comes away clear. Whichever method the state of the element calls for, drying happens in moving air at ambient temperature and never with heat or a flame, and the SM277S F1-85 is refitted dry with nothing whatever applied to it.
