Where It Sits
16 mm, 65 mm, 20 mm: that is the whole specification, and it has to match what came out. Reservoir housings hold the gas charge and are pressure-rated accordingly. Housing threads carry the adjusters and are the part that suffers if the adjuster is forced. Öhlins machines its housings from solid rather than casting them, which keeps the bores true.
Why the Original
The tolerances here are the ones the unit was assembled to, not a pattern equivalent's interpretation of them. Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. For a full rebuild, the seal kit plus the wear parts is usually the sensible order. The Öhlins exploded view names the number for each position; we can look it up if you do not have it.
How to Be Sure It Fits
The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 01052-27 in this case. Öhlins states dimension a 16 mm, dimension b 65 mm, dimension c 20 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. Housings carry bores for adjusters and seals; their concentricity decides whether the unit seals. Brackets and housings position the component precisely enough that it works as designed.
Fitting and Setup Service
Fitting service parts means opening a pressurised unit. As an authorised Öhlins service centre we do that here, with the right tools and a dyno check afterwards — just ask.
