DescriptionThe whole story▼
Plastic next to anodised aluminium looks unfinished, because it is. Here is the OILA: an oil filler cap in Ergal, thread M25 x 1.5, 35 g. Fitting is a straight swap for the original cap, by the manufacturer's account. Made in Italy, like the rest of the range.
Key Features
- Universal item
- Not tied to one model
- Thread M25 x 1.5
- A straight swap for the original cap
- A stock LighTech item
- Ergal, machined from solid
Scope and Conditions
Where the OILA ends. Nothing listed above is sold as an upgrade. It sits on the oil side of the engine: match the thread (M25 x 1.5), keep the original seal if it is sound, do not overtighten, and check for leaks before you ride. The key for fitting it is a separate part number. A stock LighTech item, so a second one is not a special order.
Fitment
The OILA is listed as a universal item. One measurement settles this: M25 x 1.5. If your motorcycle is not on the list, ask us — LighTech covers more vehicles than are listed here.
Why a Machined Cap
An oil cap is a seal, a handle and a visible part, in that order of importance. The OILA carries three holes so it can be safety-wired to the frame — the detail that decides whether you are allowed on track. Anything further would be our opinion, not the manufacturer's data.
Scope of Delivery
In the box: the cap OILA. 2 anodised finishes are available: Blue, Silver. You supply the tools; the part comes as described.
Fitting
Compare the thread pitch by eye against the original before anything is turned in. Have a cloth ready before anything is opened. The alternative is simple: leave it to our mechanics.
Approval
The paperwork question, and the practical one. There is no ABE and no parts certificate in the box with the OILA. On a track-only motorcycle the wire holes matter more than the paperwork.
