What the Catalogue Offers
Not a switch, but the complete throttle assembly. On a touring motorcycle whose controls are used constantly in poor weather, knowing that in advance changes how an owner thinks about the component.
Five Kilograms and a Lower Seat
Ducati renamed the 950 and lightened it through a new rear subframe and shock. It also brought the seat down, which mattered rather more to buyers than the weight ever did.
Torque Where a Tourer Uses It
Ninety-six newton metres arriving low enough that the V2 never asks to be revved. On a loaded bike two-up on a mountain pass, that is the only figure that describes the experience.
Salt Is the Real Enemy
Not rain. A motorcycle ridden through European winters meets road salt, which sits in a moulded joint and attacks a terminal from the inside over several seasons.
Holding an Opening
Touring means keeping the throttle in one place for an hour rather than moving it constantly. A bore that has stayed true makes that position stable and the wrist noticeably less tired.
Anodised Through the Surface
The finish is grown into the aluminium rather than sprayed over it. On a bike that lives outdoors for a decade, that difference is visible at the first winter's end.
Two Seat Heights
Ducati offered a lowered version with shorter suspension and a different saddle. It is the reason a good many riders who could never manage a Multistrada now own one.
Enclosed Contacts
Sealed inside the machined body rather than behind a clipped cover. There is no lid to lose tension and nothing for water to work past over years of use.
No Splices, Anywhere
The loom ends in Ducati's own plug. On a motorcycle taken a long way from a workshop, an installation containing no cut wires is the one that keeps working.
