Forty-Four Examples
One for each of Lewis Hamilton's racing number. Matte black with gold detailing, forged wheels, a titanium exhaust and a numbered plaque. It is the rarest F4 MV built and among the most collectible motorcycles of the last two decades.
A Genuine Collaboration
Hamilton was involved in the specification and the finish rather than lending a name to a graphics package. The restraint of the result, unusual for an MV limited edition, is generally attributed to that involvement.
The Logo Question, Sharply
On a motorcycle carrying two names already, adding a third to the cockpit is a decision worth thinking about. This is the version that does; the plain one is listed separately and on an LH44 it is probably the more defensible choice.
Cut Into the Aluminium
Milled during machining and anodised with the body. Whatever one thinks of the logo, it is executed as part of the component rather than stuck onto it, and it will look the same in twenty years.
Reversible Without Trace
Mechanical conversion using the original cables. The standard housing refits at any point, which on a forty-four-example motorcycle is the condition under which any change is contemplated.
Why Change It at All
Because the ones being ridden are ridden hard, and the standard throttle travel is long for an engine in this state of tune. A shorter cam addresses that with the least possible intrusion.
A Third Name in the Cockpit
The LH44 already carries MV's badge and Hamilton's number. Whether a component should add a third is a question worth asking, and JetPrime's unmarked version exists precisely so that it can be answered either way.
