The F3 800 Ago honours Giacomo Agostini. The JP ACS 060 replaces its throttle housing with a milled Ergal unit and a shorter cam.

Fifteen World Championships
Agostini won thirteen of his fifteen world titles on MV Agustas, which remains the highest total in Grand Prix history. The Ago edition is the company acknowledging that with a specific paint scheme, a numbered plaque and a considerable price premium.
Three Hundred Built
Limited runs are how MV Agusta has always operated, and the Ago is among the more sought after. Owners tend to know exactly what they have, which changes how modifications to one are approached.
Reversible by Design
The conversion is mechanical, uses the motorcycle's own cables and leaves nothing behind when the standard housing is refitted. On a numbered limited edition, that is the property that makes a modification acceptable at all.
Why Shorten the Throttle Anyway
Because these bikes get ridden. An Ago that spends its life in a heated garage is unusual; most are used, and the standard throttle travel is longer than the engine's responses justify on a good road.
Machined Aluminium in a Careful Cockpit
MV's own housing is a casting with a moulded cover, which is the component that most obviously belongs to ordinary production on a motorcycle otherwise finished to a very high standard.
No Lettering
The plain version is the appropriate one here. An Ago carries a numbered plaque and a specific livery, and adding another manufacturer's name to the cockpit works against both.
Why the Name Still Sells
Agostini's thirteen titles for MV Agusta were won between 1966 and 1973, which is beyond living memory for most buyers. The name works anyway, because the numbers are simply larger than anything achieved since.
