The Last F3
MV reworked the F3 800 for Euro 5 with a new exhaust, revised electronics and a redesigned tail, and it arrived just as the supersport class it belonged to was disappearing. It is the most developed version of an outstanding chassis.
Counter-Rotating, Still
The crankshaft turns against the wheels, cancelling part of their gyroscopic resistance. MV was first to production with the idea and it remains the single thing every review of an F3 mentions in its opening paragraph.
Aligned Clamp Geometry
Drilled for master cylinders whose two clamp bolts sit on a line square to the bar. The offset version covers the other arrangement, and the check is a matter of looking at the motorcycle rather than at a catalogue.
Space Behind the Fairing
Clip-ons below the yoke leave very little room between the bar and the inner panel. The dedicated aligned drilling is the narrower package and sits closer to the cylinder, which on an F3 is a measurable advantage at full lock.
Pit Lane Operation
An F3 that sees circuits has its starter and kill switch worked in a hurry between sessions with an engine running. That is harder on a moulded assembly than road use, and it shows within a few seasons.
Sealed Elements
Contacts sealed inside a one-piece milled body. Track machines are cleaned hot after every outing, and a jet washer finds the seam in a clipped housing every single time.
Black Anodised
A single finish, converted into the surface. On a track-prepared F3 a cockpit that gives the eye nothing to catch is easier to read at the end of a straight.
