Which Drilling You Need
Aligned means the two clamp bolts sit on a line perpendicular to the handlebar. If one is set forward of the other the offset version applies. It takes a moment to establish with the bike in front of you and it is the commonest cause of a return.
Brembo Stylema as Standard
KTM fits the Super Duke R with Stylema monoblocs and a radial master cylinder, which is close to race specification straight from the showroom. That is why so few owners feel any need to change the brake, and why the factory geometry matters here.
A Narrower Package
The dedicated aligned drilling sits closer to the cylinder body than the universal plate. On a handlebar carrying a lever guard, a phone mount or a bar-end mirror, that few millimetres of recovered space is a practical gain.
The Frame as a Stressed Member
KTM's 2020 chassis uses the engine to carry load rather than surrounding it, which took weight out and stiffened the whole structure. The Super Duke steers more precisely as a result and transmits rather more of the engine's character to the bars.
A Twin's Low-Frequency Beat
A 1301 cc V-twin at low revs sends a heavy pulse into everything bolted to the handlebar. Fasteners loosen under that in a way they do not on an inline four, and a one-piece machined body with a proper clamp is the straightforward answer.
No Shelter
The Super Duke has a token flyscreen and nothing else. Rain reaches the controls at road speed and stays there, and sealed elements inside a housing with no moulded seam are the only meaningful response to that.
Black Anodised
One finish, converted into the surface rather than applied on top. Against orange frame tubes and dark plastics it belongs, and a knock dulls it instead of leaving a bright mark.
