The Aligned Clamp
Both fasteners on a single axis. Ducati uses two arrangements and only the handlebar can tell you which one a particular motorcycle has been fitted with.
Not Visible in a Listing
Any product photograph shows both patterns identically. Establishing it from the bike is the only reliable method and it takes less time than reading a compatibility table.
Full Contact With the Bar
Machining lets the clamp match the tube's diameter exactly. On a wide handlebar carrying real leverage, spreading that load evenly is worth more than on clip-ons.
Fasteners That Survive
Cut threads in aluminium take a proper torque and take it again. On a naked bike the block comes off whenever the bars do, which is more often than on a faired machine.
Standing Water
A Streetfighter has nothing above its handlebar, so water collects there whenever the bike is parked outside. Hours of contact do the damage, not the ride through the shower.
Sealed Elements
Contacts enclosed within the body itself. With no bodywork at all, that housing is the entire defence the electrics have against the weather.
A Hundred and Twenty Horsepower
In a motorcycle weighing 178 kilograms. Ducati chose to take weight out rather than add output, which produces a considerably more enjoyable road bike.
An Engine Designed for This
The 890 V2 was drawn without a capacity rule to satisfy, which let Ducati optimise for tractability and mass instead. It is the first middleweight twin the company has built that way.
City-Sized Steering Lock
The Streetfighter V2 turns around in a normal street without effort. That is not true of every naked derivative of a superbike and it matters daily.
