Staggered Fasteners
The second of Ducati's two clamp arrangements. Which a bike takes depends on what is actually bolted to its handlebar rather than on the model or the year.
A Minute With an Allen Key
Loosen the existing block, look at where the screws enter, order accordingly. It is faster than any compatibility chart and considerably faster than a return.
There Is Nothing Smaller
Ducati sells the assembly complete because the switches are moulded into it during manufacture. One hesitant contact therefore retires the entire component.
Resistance Rather Than Failure
Oxidation on a terminal raises resistance gradually. The control works, then works on dry days, then does not, and the whole decline takes most of a year.
The Same Part Every Time
A cutting programme holds its dimensions for as long as it runs. Moulding tools wear, and the last blocks from one do not sit the way the first ones did.
No Printing to Lose
Ducati applies its legends to the surface of the plastic and ultraviolet removes them within a few summers. A machined body carries none at all.
An Entirely New Twin
The 890 shares nothing meaningful with the Superquadro it replaced. It was designed for weight and usability rather than to meet a capacity limit in a rulebook.
A Hundred and Seventy-Six Kilograms
Dry, which makes this the lightest Panigale Ducati has ever built. It is the number that explains everything else about how the motorcycle behaves.
Variable Intake Timing
The 890 varies its valve timing to broaden the usable band. On a middleweight twin that is worth considerably more than another five horsepower at the top.
