The JP ES 025 settles the Tiger 1200's sidestand loop so the motorcycle runs with the bracket removed.

Shaft Drive
Nothing to adjust and nothing to lubricate, which on a machine intended to cross continents is worth considerably more than the weight it costs.
GT and Rally
Cast wheels and nineteen inches at the front for one, spoked rims and twenty-one for the other. Triumph split the model properly rather than offering a graphics package.
Mud and Salt
Winter roads and green lanes both finish these. Corrosion inside the housing raises the resistance long before anything visibly breaks.
What the Controller Sees
An open circuit, which it cannot distinguish from a deployed stand or a broken wire. All three produce the same behaviour.
Answered, Not Bridged
The eliminator presents the state the controller expects. A length of wire across the terminals presents something else and frequently earns its own warning.
Why the Position Is Unavoidable
The switch has to sense the stand, so it has to live where the stand lives, which is the lowest and dirtiest part of the motorcycle. No manufacturer has found a better answer and Triumph is not alone in the compromise.
Carrying One as a Spare
Riders heading somewhere remote sometimes carry a replacement switch. An eliminator weighs less, costs less and solves the problem permanently rather than once, which is why several end up in tool rolls rather than fitted.
Why Bridging With Wire Goes Wrong
The controller looks for a particular condition rather than simply continuity, and a jumper across the terminals sometimes reads as a different fault. It is the kind of shortcut that produces a new problem in place of the old one.
The Connector Is the Weak Point
More often than the switch itself. Cleaning it and packing it with grease sometimes buys another year, which is worth trying first.
