The JP CJP 072H gives the 790 Adventure R complete management of its fuel map, adjusted on a laptop rather than shipped with a curve somebody else worked out.

The R adds serious suspension and reduces the electronic assistance, aimed at riders who intend to use the ground clearance.

Log the same road with the old map and the new one. It is the only honest way to know whether an evening's work achieved anything.
Against Reflashing
A remap of the original controller reaches ignition, the limiter and the rider aids, and it is written into the motorcycle where a workshop will find it. This is narrower, reversible and belongs to the box rather than the bike.
