The JP ES 028 blanks the GSX-R 1000's secondary air ports with a solid machined plate in place of the reed housing.

Where the Air Enters
Two ports in the head, fed through reeds from a hose off the airbox. Blanking them stops exhaust gas travelling in either direction through that path.
On a Race Engine
Builders remove the system before touching anything else, because leftover secondary air makes exhaust gas analysis meaningless and any subsequent mapping work rests on it.
Solid Rather Than Sealed Shut
Some workshops plug the ports with epoxy or a bolt and washer. Neither survives a season of heat cycling; a machined plate on an O-ring does.
Suzuki and Endurance
The GSX-R 1000 has won the Suzuka Eight Hours repeatedly, and endurance racing shapes the engine more than sprint racing ever did. Durability is designed in rather than added.
The K5 Reputation
The 2005 bike is the one people still talk about, and used prices reflect it. A great many are now track machines and almost none of them still carry the emissions plumbing.
Two Decades, One Interface
The head port arrangement stayed consistent across the whole run. That is unusual over twenty-one model years and it is why one part number covers all of them.
The Electrical Half
The ECU still monitors its solenoid whether or not the head is blanked. Only the electrical eliminator stops the fault appearing.
Nothing Drilled
Original fastener positions and original torque. The head is not modified in any way that a later inspection would find.
Emissions Approval
The system is part of the bike's type approval. Removing it makes the motorcycle a track-only machine in every European market.
Reversible in an Evening
The reed housing refits with its own fasteners. Nothing about the exchange is permanent and nothing has to be replaced afterwards.
