The JP ES 007 lifts the Z650RS's KLEEN solenoid out of the circuit without a warning appearing.

Sixty-Eight Horsepower
Unchanged from the Z650, because the RS was never meant to be the fast one. The character comes from the styling and the riding position.
A Hundred and Eighty-Seven Kilograms
Wet, which is light for a retro and the reason the Z650RS handles considerably better than most motorcycles styled this way.
An Emulator, Not a Jumper
The unit returns the resistance the controller is looking for. A wire across the pins returns something else, and a different fault code is a worse outcome than the one it was meant to cure.
Nothing Coded
No adaptation, no reset and no dealer appointment. The circuit reads correctly from the first ignition cycle and the display behaves as it always did.
An Honest Description
This is an emissions delete. It changes the legal standing of the motorcycle where the system is mandated and it changes nothing about how the engine makes power.
The Second Half Is Optional
Plenty of owners fit only the electrical eliminator and are entirely content. The cylinder head cover addresses a different problem and there is no obligation to do both.
On a Road Bike
There the legal position is real and the rider should understand it before ordering. Nobody is served by pretending the question does not exist.
Before Anything Else on a Build
Fuelling, exhausts and mapping all rest on the assumption that the engine is breathing what the sensors think it is. This is the change that makes that assumption true.
An Inexpensive Fix for an Expensive Complaint
Riders spend real money on exhausts trying to cure a crackle that has nothing to do with the silencer, and then more money again on mapping. The valve is almost always the answer and almost never the first thing anybody suspects.
