The JP ES 016 stops the Multistrada 1200 lighting a lamp failure on the panel when the number plate illumination has been changed for something the controller cannot see.

Skyhook Suspension
Ducati's semi-active system arrived on the 1200 and set the standard for the class. Several rivals took years to answer it properly.

What a Tail Tidy Does to It
Most aftermarket plate brackets either come with a small LED lamp or come with nothing at all. Both draw far less than the original filament unit, and both therefore look identical to a burnt-out bulb from the controller's point of view. The warning that follows is the commonest reason anybody goes looking for a part like this.
Reading the Fault Rather Than Guessing
A diagnostic tool names the circuit, which saves an hour of pulling at connectors under a seat unit. On a machine with several lighting changes it is the only sensible starting point, because the panel shows a general warning where the memory shows exactly which lamp the controller lost.
