The JP ES 016 plugs into the Hypermotard 950 SP's plate lamp connector and gives the monitoring circuit a load, because that circuit measures current rather than light.

The tail unit is short and the hanger is long, which is why almost nobody leaves the standard arrangement in place beyond the first month.
Two Circuits, Two Parts
The tail light and the plate lamp are monitored separately, so a full conversion needs both answered. This surprises a considerable number of owners.
Nothing Is Cut
The eliminator uses the connector the standard lamp used, so no wire in the loom is stripped, joined or soldered anywhere. That is what makes the change reversible in the couple of minutes it takes to reach the connector, and it is what an inspection or a careful buyer will actually notice.
What Happens to the Old Bracket
The original plate holder generally comes off in one piece with the lamp still attached to it, which makes it easy to keep as a unit. Bagged whole rather than dismantled, it goes back on in ten minutes, and the fasteners staying with it is what makes that true.
