The JP KS BM008 is the racing ignition switch for the M1000RR, with the connector the motorcycle already has and nothing in the loom cut.

Built to Homologate
Titanium rods, a raised rev ceiling and aerodynamics developed for racing. The M exists so BMW can enter World Superbike, and most owners use it accordingly.
Cut From Solid
Ergal machined rather than moulded, which is why the body survives the knocks a top yoke collects over a season of being wheeled about.
Where the Weight Sits
High and forward, above the steering head. Mass in that position works against the rider on every direction change, which is why the figure is worth more than it looks.
How the Engine Is Killed
The button breaks the ignition circuit exactly as turning the key to off did. Nothing about the way the engine stops changes.
Colours
Black is standard. Blue, red and titanium appear on the numbers where JetPrime offers them, anodised rather than painted.
Weight Where It Counts
Losing mass at the steering head helps a motorcycle change direction more than losing the same mass under the seat. That is the argument in one sentence.
What Does Not Change
Lights, indicators, switchgear, instruments and every electronic rider aid carry on exactly as before. Only the ignition circuit is touched.
Tools
Hex keys and a torque wrench that reads accurately at low settings. Nothing specialised and nothing expensive.
A Question of Storage
Where the motorcycle lives decides this more than how it is ridden. A locked workshop makes the missing steering lock irrelevant.
Storing What Comes Off
Barrel, key, bracket and connector in one bag, kept with the motorcycle rather than in a drawer somewhere else. A reversible change is only reversible if somebody can find the parts, which is a lower bar than it sounds.
