DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ACCGP TR039 fits the Speed Triple 1050 RS, Triumph's sharper-suspended version of the naked triple, and reduces the ride-by-wire throttle's travel to 60 degrees. The RS's electronics and throttle mapping are left exactly as standard; only the rotation needed to open the throttle fully is shortened.
Key Features
- Triumph Speed Triple 1050 RS (2018–2020)
- GP Series ride-by-wire quick throttle with a sixty degree rotation angle
- Progressive return spring, preload adjustable externally in three positions
- CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075
- Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector
- Standard throttle assembly refits at any time
The Firmer Sibling
Where the base 1050 leans toward comfort, the RS brings sharper suspension and sharper geometry aimed at quicker direction changes and harder riding. A throttle that opens with less rotation fits that brief, letting a rider commit to the gas with the same wrist movement needed for a smaller input on the standard grip.
On a Track Day
Taken onto a circuit, the RS rewards a rider who can modulate the throttle finely through corner exits without the extra rotation of a stock grip getting in the way. Trail braking into a shorter throw means less wrist travel between trailing the brake and opening the gas back up.
Resistance That Builds
A progressive return spring sits behind the shortened throw, offering less resistance near idle and more as the throttle opens further. That progression helps stop an aggressive input from feeling like an on-off switch, keeping small corrections near the closed position light while still returning cleanly from full throttle.
Triple Pull, Shorter Wrist
The 1050 triple's torque delivery is usually the headline on the RS, and how quickly that torque can be summoned depends partly on how far the throttle has to rotate to call for it. Less rotation means the engine's character arrives sooner in the movement of the wrist.
Resetting the Baseline
Fitting calls for a throttle position relearn through the bike's diagnostic system afterwards, so the ECU's reference point matches the new unit rather than the one it replaced. This is a short procedure rather than a full recalibration of the fuelling.
An Unmodified Original
Because the stock throttle body is not altered during the swap, it can be refitted later without any trace of the change. Riders unsure whether the shorter throw suits them can treat the fitment as reversible rather than final. No cutting, splicing, or permanent bracket is involved in either direction of the swap.
