DescriptionThe whole story▼
When every tenth of a second matters, the I2M Chrome Plus2 Dashboard gives BMW S1000RR K46 riders the precision data infrastructure to understand and improve every lap. Combining a race-grade GPS lap timer, a fully featured data logger, and a 5-inch full-colour display in a single plug-and-play unit, the Chrome Plus2 transforms the K46 generation S1000RR into a genuinely analytical track tool.
Key Features
- 5-inch colour display at 800 x 480 resolution — crisp, glanceable readout in direct sunlight on track
- 10 Hz GPS for accurate trajectory mapping and speed measurement across 4 configurable sector split points per circuit
- 128 additional CAN-Bus acquisition channels at up to 500 Hz per channel, capturing far greater data depth than entry-level systems
- 16 GB internal storage holding up to 500 laps per circuit, across 20 pre-installed race tracks
- 11 freely configurable high-brightness RGB alarm LEDs for instant visual alerts at the limit
- Integrated lambda controller, video input, Bluetooth BLE, and WiFi for wireless data transfer and camera synchronisation
- Fully customisable display pages for both rider and mechanic use
Why the Chrome Plus2 Over the Chrome Lite
The Chrome Plus2 is positioned clearly above the Chrome Lite for riders who demand greater data depth, broader connectivity, and headroom for complex track setups. Where the Lite covers the essentials, the Plus2 adds extended CAN-Bus evaluation with significantly more channels, higher sampling rates for more precise acquisition, Bluetooth BLE, WiFi, 16 GB of storage, configurable RGB alarm LEDs, video input for camera connection and data synchronisation, an integrated lambda controller, and fully adaptable screen layouts. For a rider who wants to go beyond lap times and genuinely interrogate their BMW's behaviour, the Plus2 is the appropriate tool.
Display Clarity and Alerting
The 5-inch colour screen at 800 x 480 pixels delivers a wide, well-organised layout that can be read at a glance even under direct sunlight — a critical requirement when information must be processed instantly at racing pace. The 11 high-brightness RGB LEDs add a configurable alarm layer, drawing attention to threshold breaches without requiring the rider to read a number. Together, the display and LED array mean the Chrome Plus2 is not merely presenting data; it is actively supporting faster, more informed reactions on track.
Data Logging and GPS Performance
At 10 Hz, the integrated GPS receiver logs position and speed at a rate suitable for meaningful trajectory analysis, allowing riders and engineers to overlay lines, braking points, and speed traces lap by lap. With 128 additional CAN-Bus channels sampling at up to 500 Hz, the unit can absorb the full richness of sensor data available on the S1000RR K46, from throttle position and wheel speeds through to any additional sensors introduced for setup work. Sessions are stored internally across 16 GB — enough for extensive test days without data management interruptions — and can be transferred wirelessly via WiFi for post-session analysis.
Is the Chrome Plus2 the Right Choice for You?
This racing dashboard suits S1000RR K46 riders who want more than a basic lap timer. It is the right choice when you need data-led session evaluation and comparison, a system with WiFi, Bluetooth, and 10 Hz GPS, deeper CAN-Bus integration than entry-level units offer, and a platform that can grow with increasingly complex track setups. If you are committed to understanding your BMW rather than simply riding it fast, the Chrome Plus2 provides the analytical foundation to do so.
Fitment & Compatibility
Designed and wired specifically for the BMW S1000RR K46 platform, covering model years 2009 to 2018. Two mounting variants are available: without the dashboard mounting kit, or with the dashboard mounting kit included. Year-range-specific harness options cover 2009–2014 and 2015–2018 builds, ensuring correct CAN-Bus integration for each iteration of the K46.
