DescriptionThe whole story▼
The upper fork yoke is the part of a ZX-10R that decides how the front end talks to you. It clamps the fork tubes, sets where the bars sit, and carries every input you make into the chassis. PSK3 is Bonamici Racing's street specification top triple clamp for the 2021-onwards ZX-10R: machined from solid billet, shot-peened and anodised, and — the point of the "standard" designation — cut to take the original ignition lock back where Kawasaki put it.
Key Features
- Keeps the original ignition lock. The clamp is machined with the recess for it, so the bike stays usable exactly as before with no relocated barrel and no workaround.
- Precision-machined from solid high-strength aluminium alloy rather than cast, which is what allows the clamping faces to be cut to a consistent tolerance across the pair.
- Micro shot-peening with steel balls. The surface is bombarded with fine steel shot, which compresses the outer layer of the metal and raises its resistance to fatigue cracking — a treatment borrowed from motorsport, not a cosmetic finish.
- Anodised in black or silver for wear and corrosion resistance; the colour sits in the surface of the metal, not on top of it.
- Made in Italy by Bonamici Racing, part number PSK3.
What Shot-Peening Actually Does
A machined aluminium part fails, when it fails, from a crack that starts at the surface and works inward. Shot-peening puts that surface into compression, so a crack has to overcome the residual stress before it can even begin to propagate. On a component that clamps the forks of a 200-horsepower motorcycle this is not a marketing line; it is why the part can be made light without being made fragile.
Street Specification, Not a Compromise
The distinction between this clamp and the race version is narrow but decisive: PSK3 retains the ignition lock, the race version does not. For a ZX-10R that is parked outside a café, ridden to work, and occasionally taken to a circuit, that single detail is the difference between a yoke you can live with and one you cannot. Everything else — the billet, the peening, the anodising — is shared.
Fitment and Compatibility
PSK3 is machined for:
- Kawasaki ZX-10 R — model years 2021 through 2026
It does not fit the 2016-2020 generation, which takes PSK1.
Road Approval
Bonamici Racing publishes no ABE or EC type-approval for this triple clamp, and none is supplied. A fork yoke is a load-bearing chassis component: in Germany, fitting one without a Teilegutachten is a decision that affects the vehicle's operating permit, and it is worth discussing with your inspector before you commit.
