Six point one kilograms. On a middleweight naked bike that weighs 218 kg ready to ride, this is the largest single weight reduction available from any part — nearly three per cent of the whole motorcycle, taken from the two silencers hanging high on either side of the tail.

Ten and a Half Kilograms of Standard Exhaust
Aprilia gave the Shiver two silencers under the seat, and to meet European noise limits on a 896 cc V-twin they had to be substantial. Together they weigh 10.5 kg, which on a bike of this size is an unusual amount of mass in an unusual place — high, central and behind the rider.
Taking 6.1 kg out of that position changes how quickly the bike falls from one side to the other. It is the kind of difference that is measurable on a scale and obvious in the first corner, which is rare among exhaust upgrades.
Torque at 3,600 rpm
The 3.5 Nm gain arrives just above walking pace in second gear. On a V-twin naked bike ridden in town and on back roads, that is where the engine spends most of its working life — and it matters more than the 2 PS at the top, which you would need a straight road and a licence to use.
Two Hours, and Why
Akrapovic quotes 120 minutes for the installation, the longest of any slip-on in this catalogue. There are two silencers, both sit under the seat unit, and the tail section has to come apart to reach the mountings. This is a workshop job rather than a driveway one — plan accordingly, or have it fitted.
One Thing to Know
No removable noise insert is supplied. The sound level is what these silencers produce as built, approved at that level but not adjustable.
