DescriptionThe whole story▼
Much of what happens on the pegs is prepared away from the bike. Riding a Husqvarna FE 501 standing up through rough terrain for hours asks a lot of the legs, hips and core, and riders who only ride tend to discover their limits on the trail. A little training during the week changes that. Stronger legs hold the standing position longer, absorb more and tire less, which makes the whole ride safer. Enlarged footpegs in Ergal from Accossato, listed for the FE 501 of 2024 to 2026 in orange, blue or black, give those legs a broad base to work from.

Construction and Material Quality
Ergal, a high-strength aluminium alloy, is the material Accossato gives for these pegs, and it calls them enlarged footpegs for motocross, enduro and off-road motorcycles. That is all the manufacturer says about them. The practical benefit of the enlarged form is plain enough: the boot has more to stand on, which is welcome on a big enduro ridden standing for long periods. Two pegs make up the set, left and right, in orange, blue or black for the newest FE 501.
Strength for Standing
The standing position is essentially a half squat held for long periods, with constant small corrections. Exercises that mimic it are the obvious place to start: squats and lunges for the thighs, calf raises for the ankles and planks for the trunk, done with good form rather than heavy weights. Cycling, on the road or on a mountain bike, builds endurance in the legs and is popular with off-road riders for exactly that reason. Balance work on one leg helps too.
Mobility matters as much as strength. Tight hips and hamstrings push the rider into a hunched position, which loads the lower back, so a few minutes of stretching after training and after riding pays off. On the bike itself, the aim is to let the legs carry the weight while the arms stay loose. A broad peg supports that by giving the soles a stable base on the FE 501. As always with new pegs, check the gear lever and brake pedal position after fitting and look everything over after the first ride.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the FR809 for the FE 501 from 2024 to 2026. The FE 501 of 2017 to 2023 needs the FR798, and that of 2014 to 2016 the FR795. As the model year decides, check it first, then compare the photos and colours; we are happy to confirm the right set if you send us your details. The FR809 also appears with us for the FE 250, the TX 125 and the KTM 250 EXC-F.
Road Approval
We hold no ABE or approval certificate for these footpegs and offer them for competition use.
