Racing and sport motorcycle gloves from Dainese, Alpinestars, Spidi, RST, IXON and Knox, built for riders who expect the same feedback on the road as on the circuit. Kangaroo leather sets the benchmark in this category: thinner and stronger than cowhide, it keeps the palm supple enough for precise throttle and brake control while resisting abrasion in a slide. Carbon knuckle protectors, palm sliders and reinforced scaphoid zones cover the impact side of the equation.

Certification is the first thing to check. Gloves approved to EN 13594, ideally Level 2 KP, have passed defined abrasion, seam-strength, impact and knuckle-protection tests rather than relying on marketing claims. For track days and racing, choose a full gauntlet cuff that overlaps the suit sleeve and stays in place during a crash, plus a bridged ring and little finger to prevent finger-separation injuries. External seams at the fingertips avoid pressure points at full grip.

For road and sport-touring use, shorter cuffs and perforated leather trade some coverage for comfort and airflow. Whichever way you go, fit decides everything: race gloves should sit snug out of the box, since kangaroo leather breaks in and molds to the hand within a few rides.
