Sprint Filter P08 Air Filter for Road & Track – Ducati Multistrada 1260 / S (2018–2021) PM127S

The 1260 took the DVT engine out to 1262 cc and moved the torque lower, which turned the Multistrada from a fast bike that could tour into a touring bike that happens to be fast. That shift matters for the air filter, because touring is the duty cycle in which an element does continuous rather than occasional work. Two hours at a constant high load is not a peak measurement; it is a sustained draw with no coasting and no idle time to recover. The Sprint Filter P08 PM127S is sized for it, with roughly double the filtering surface of other performance filters.

Sustained is harder than peak

Filter restriction is usually discussed as a number measured for a few seconds on a dyno. A rider covering six hundred kilometres in a day never encounters that figure. What they encounter is a long stretch where the pressure drop across the element is a continuous cost, and where the airbox is warm enough for hours at a time. Both arguments favour the same thing: more surface to keep the continuous restriction low, and a dry medium so there is nothing in the intake that heat can mobilise.

Same element, both versions

The base 1260 and the S with its semi-active Skyhook suspension use the same airbox and the same filter. So do the Enduro and Pikes Peak versions of the same generation — twenty Ducati models in total share PM127S.

Care and cleaning

Compressed air from the clean side outwards is the routine service. For a deeper clean, wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, rinse until the water runs clear, and dry fully in air — never with heat, never with a flame. Refit dry; no oiling step.
