Chain Drive
Unlike the larger Tigers, which keeps weight down and cost down at the price of maintenance. On a middleweight it is the right compromise.
Nineteen Litres
Enough for a genuine three hundred and fifty kilometres, which is what makes the Tiger 800 usable for the touring most owners actually do.
Nothing Cut
Triumph's own bracket holes and connectors throughout. The conversion reverses in an evening with no replacement parts required.
Exhaust Hangers
Aftermarket silencers mount in the same congested area, and clearing the vessel is frequently what turns a difficult fit into a straightforward one.

Mechanical first, electrical last. Fitting the circuit answer before the vessel is out simply means testing twice and reaching the same place.
A Long Way From a Workshop
A saturated canister produces hard starting in exactly the places where a dealer is a day's ride away. That is the practical argument on any motorcycle used for genuine distance.
Refitting for a Test
An emissions inspection that includes a visual check needs the standard arrangement in place. With the parts kept, that is an evening's work rather than a parts order and a rescheduled appointment.
On a Bike With Panniers
Frames, brackets and the vessel all compete for the same volume, and something usually has to be persuaded. Removing the canister ends the argument.
The Last Two Years
This fitment covers the final version, after the 2018 revision brought a lighter clutch, revised gearing and a colour screen. It is the most developed 800 Triumph built and the one to look for on the used market.
