DescriptionThe whole story▼
A disc over the rear wheel is one of the oldest ideas in motorcycle aerodynamics and one of the least often seen on a road bike. It closes the spokes into a single smooth surface, and on a single-sided swingarm it does so from the visible side, where the wheel is a design feature rather than a component.
Key Features
- Aerodynamic cover for the rear wheel, mounting to the standard wheel
- Four configurations in 200 Plain weave: clear coat, matt, satin and raw
- Autoclave-cured laminate, stiff across a large unsupported disc
- No modification to the wheel, the hub or the brake
- Fits several Ducati models that share this rear wheel
What a Wheel Disc Does
On a rotating wheel, open spokes generate turbulence that a closed disc does not. That is a genuine effect and it is why the idea persists in record attempts and time trials. On a road motorcycle at legal speeds, it is far too small to feel and nobody should buy this part expecting to.
What it does reliably is change how the motorcycle looks in motion, because a closed rear wheel reads as a solid shape where an open one flickers. On a Streetfighter, whose rear end is deliberately minimal, that is a substantial visual change from a single part.
Fitment and Compatibility
Ducati Streetfighter V4, model years 2020 to 2024, on the standard rear wheel. The same cover is used on other Ducati models sharing this wheel; check the wheel rather than the model name if the motorcycle has been modified.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part. A component attached to a rotating wheel is treated more strictly than bodywork in several markets, so confirm the position for your own registration before road use.
Balance and Fitting
Anything added to a wheel is added to a rotating mass, and it has to go on evenly. Follow the fitting instructions on fastener sequence and torque, and have the wheel checked for balance afterwards if the motorcycle is used at speed.
On finish, this is a surface that lives in road spray and chain fling and is cleaned with the wheel rather than with the bodywork. Matt and raw handle that best. Clear coat looks extraordinary on a clean motorcycle and demands to be kept that way.
