DescriptionThe whole story▼
Not every Diavel Carbon is treated as furniture. Plenty are still ridden from March to November by owners who bought the Ducati second-hand precisely so they could use it without flinching, and that means mornings with mist lying on the road and evenings that end wetter than they began. Accossato's Sintered mixture, article AGPA92ST on the AGPA92 plate, is listed at the rear wheel of the Diavel Carbon from 2014 to 2018, and the company describes it as keeping one steady, high level of grip whether the disc is warm or cold, and as working when that disc is wet.
Key Features
- Rear brake pads for the Ducati Diavel Carbon, seasons 2014 to 2018
- AGPA92ST: Accossato's Sintered friction material on the AGPA92 plate
- Claimed to hold its grip level hot, cold and in the wet
- Aimed at a Diavel ridden through the shoulder months, not only in July
- Box contents: two pads, the pair for one rear caliper
- OR, EV1, EV2 and ZXC cover the same outline differently
- Accossato also catalogues the DKS053 disc for this machine
- No German ABE recorded; supplied for competition use
Construction and Material Quality
The plate is common to the family; the ST face is where the argument lies. Accossato's description names two conditions that often arrive together on a used motorcycle, a cold assembly and a wet one, and holds that neither moves the grip level far. For a Diavel Carbon ridden through the shoulder months that is the entire point, since the rear brake is called on at the beginning of a ride as readily as at the end, and an owner who has to allow for a vague first application soon stops using the pedal at all.
Spring Mornings on an Older Ducati
Damp is a slow enemy. A film of water on the rear disc delays the moment the pads take hold, and on a machine that has stood for a week the first application of the day also has to clear a light bloom from the steel. Riders of a Diavel Carbon know the small ritual: pull away gently, use the rear brake once or twice before the end of the street, and only then trust it. Material built to work in the wet shortens that ritual instead of depending on it.
Through the Wet Half of the Season
Year-round use adds housekeeping. Water and grit reach the rear caliper of a Diavel Carbon before they reach anything else, and a caliper that has stood through a winter is worth cleaning properly before its pads are judged. Change both sides at once so the piston presses on faces of equal age, keep the disc free of anything greasy when the chain is served, and give new material a series of firm stops on a dry road before the next damp morning arrives.
Fitment and Compatibility
The entry covers the Diavel Carbon for 2014 through 2018; the 1260 generation that followed is listed under its own headings, so a bike from either side of that boundary wants checking rather than assuming. Two pads to a box and one caliper at the rear keep the sum straightforward. Accossato's DKS053 disc belongs to the same motorcycle, which helps when both halves of the assembly have reached the end together.
Road Approval
Neither test certificates nor a German ABE have reached us for the AGPA92ST, which is why these pads are catalogued for racing and closed-course riding.
Scope of Delivery
A single box, two AGPA92 pads in the Sintered compound, the pair for one rear caliper.
