DescriptionThe whole story▼
Autumn rain, a pillion behind you and panniers full for a week away: that is the kind of riding the Yamaha NIKEN GT was built for, and it is where Accossato's Sintered (ST) compound for front pad AGPA97 fits in. Accossato lists this pad for the NIKEN GT from 2019 to 2024. The ST mix is aimed at riders who keep the three-wheeler on the road through every season and want the lever to feel the same on a dry summer pass as on a wet November evening.
Key Features
- Front pad AGPA97 made in Accossato's Sintered (ST) compound
- Fits the Yamaha NIKEN GT from 2019 to 2024 according to Accossato
- High, constant grip across hot and cold conditions, as Accossato states
- Good bite on a wet disc
- Steady lever feel with luggage and passenger aboard
- Supplied as a pair for one caliper
- Other compounds of this pad: OR, EV1, EV2, ZXC
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes its Sintered compound as keeping a high and constant level of grip at both high and low temperatures, and as gripping well in the wet. For a touring machine that crosses mountain ranges and meets rain on the way, that consistency matters more than any single peak value. Across its range, Accossato also mentions low wear, reduced fading thanks to controlled heat and strong braking. Each of those is the maker's claim rather than a figure we have measured.
Loaded Touring, Any Month
A fully packed NIKEN GT with two people aboard puts real work through the front brakes on long descents. With a compound that holds its grip as the temperature climbs, the stopping point on the last hairpin arrives where it did on the first. In the wet, the pads bite without a delay while the disc clears. That is why ST is the usual choice for riders who do not park the bike when the weather turns. For short city hops, the OR version runs quieter.
Before a Long Trip
Look at pad thickness and disc surface before leaving, top up or replace brake fluid if it is dark, and replace pads on all calipers of an axle together.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's catalogue gives AGPA97 for the MXT 850 NIKEN GT, model years 2019 to 2024. The NIKEN GT has its front braking spread over two wheels, so check how many calipers your bike has and order one box per caliper. Discs DK077 and DKS073 are also listed by Accossato for this machine. Bed the new pads in gradually and pump the lever until it is firm before the first ride.
Road Approval
We do not hold an ABE or any test documents for AGPA97ST. The pads are therefore sold for track and competition purposes.
